I rarely write reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience so others can make informed decisions. After receiving treatment at this office, I was later contacted and asked to pay additional money beyond what I believed I owed. When I tried to understand the charges, I reviewed my insurance explanations of benefits and billing statements. SCAMMERS, STAY FAR, FAR AWAY. They said I needed root planing and scaling when I absolutely didn’t, and I paid almost $1000 because they said it’s not covered under my insurance. It is absolutely covered as long as they could PROVE I had it and I didn’t. I hope this scamming dentist is shut down
Dr. Shelyan is a good dentist, and a nice one at that, but he has a particular style that doesn't work for me, and that I think would be useful to let others know about. He is very aggressive in his treatment recommendations (not in how he recommends it, but in the choice itself). If anything is even a little bit wrong, he suggests the most intense procedure.
