My appointment was no more than 5 minutes and I was completely dismissed, while crying, about how my symptoms of endometriosis is taking over my life. I was told due to my age (47) to go on the pill and hope that when I reach menopause my symptoms will go away. I didn't even get a chance to discuss my symptoms. I was then charged a fortune for the pleasure.
Everything about this practice is wonderful. As soon as you open the door you are greeted by the most lovely receptionist! The practice looks beautiful and has a very calm ambience. And then onto Dr Abi - what an absolute gem! Whilst very professional, she also has an awesome sense of humour and the appointment was full of all the information I needed and all my concerns were addressed in a very kind and practical way. So happy I found you!
I’m 24yrs old this was my first experience with a gynaecologist, Dr. Abi Thevakumar. Never in my life have I been judged and dismissed as I was during my appointment- She shamed me for my sexual history and contraception choices saying “smart people don’t make those decisions” decisions being I didn’t want to go on the pill or have an IUD. Excellent care. Dr Abi took the time to ask actual questions to determine why I was referred. I appreciated the thorough check up instead of just going along with what others might have suspected. I felt cared for with integrity and real interest, rather than just being numbered off, even though she could have! Can only recommend.
Dr Abi is so kind and caring and makes sure you are looked and your problems are listened to would recommend her to anyone !
