There is no swim center any more just a huge empty building that I took swim lesson at 45 years ago. It was shut down during the pandemic and the city is using tax money for whatever they want. I would hope that it is being reinvested into public services and other community needs. I had hoped I would be able to enroll my son in swim classes at the same place I had them, but I was super disappointed when I went their after looking online to see if it was open again. Miss this place, but I won’t pay a tax increase to re-open it. We shouldn’t have to pay MORE taxes to when they closed it due to Covid, which is over now. I miss the little tuxedo cat that roamed around here, I hope he’s ok.
Our family grew up swimming here. We all miss our favorite pool. We loved being able to walk here from our home. Our church even held a baptismal ceremony at the pool. Come back FPSC!
