I brought my bunny in with a puffy chest and lumps on her body. I asked them specifically to screen for Cancer. They said it was just fat. She died a few months later of Cancer which they never admitted until AFTER she died. Maybe they don't have the tools to test for Cancer? Then they should have referred me elsewhere. I wish I had known, then maybe I could have fought the Cancer. I would have done absolutely anything to save her! If you ever need a good ferret vet, I want to recommend For Pet's Sake in Decatur. Today I had to bring in my very sick ferret Fiyero and he had to be put to sleep. The staff, particularly the technician Autumn, were absolutely wonderful. Autumn has 5 ferrets herself and understood what I was going through. They did not charge me a dime. They even placed a flower over his body in the box I brought him home in. I came all the way from Carrollton to bring my Ball Python, Lucifer, in to get treatment for a respiratory infection. Its been very hard to find a vet that sees snakes and doesn’t charge an arm and leg for treatment. Everyone was so nice the doctor called to talk to us about everything he was doing and what he saw when looking at Lucifer. He even sent a video on how to give him the antibiotic injections and they said they’ll call in 3 days to see how his first shot at home goes. They have the best pricing around too! for any bird owners these vets know their stuff! and they don't discriminate! i brought my homing pigeon in for a wellness check and they were so nice and got the job done!
I took my Russian tortoise to them for a much-needed beak trim. He was handsome before but now he's a real lady killer, lol. It was my first visit with them so I was a little concerned that I wasn't allowed inside the building due to coronavirus restrictions, but they took good care of my critter and he's happy that he can eat unobstructed now so it's all good. I'm very glad we've got such a capable vet nearby!
I took my my guinea pig to For Pets Sake (conjunctivitis) on Wednesday. Everyone from the receptionists to the Veterinarian (Dr. Paras) was so nice and caring! Royal and I will definitely be return customers!
Please know these people care, and take care. They’ve worked together for years and I trust them. My sweet CoCo is no longer with us but Dr. Hutcheson and Debbie gave my family space and peace of knowing we exhausted all efforts as little CoCo was passing naturally. They gifted us some beautiful final moments, and I’m eternally grateful for her care over the decades ♥️🕊
