Just by way of follow-up, I think all of us regular customers appreciate Karen and her wonderful, hard-working staff. Yes, it can seem a little hectic at times, especially if you happen to be there just when the fresh produce and seafood is arriving and being set out: it's a bit like a high-quality restaurant where the freshness of the ingredients is valued. But, because Karen and the staff are so knowledgeable about the food they sell, it is also a great learning environment.
Great selection of Asian foods. However, I️ couldn’t help notice the lady who owns, or manages, the store being pretty abrasive to her employee. This does not seem like a healthy work environment.

Fooks Foods is one of the best things going in Athens, GA. Karen carries the freshest foods I've found and there are new surprises every time I go in: live blue crabs, freshly shucked oysters, whole salmon--not to mention the vegetables & the tofu! You have to check it out. Great prices & lots of sweet treats & Lucky Cats
Today I bought my first whole salmon. Karen let me scale it in her big sink. I am so excited with the freshness of the fish. It is delicious. And she gave me some things for Chinese New Year in 2 weeks. She has a very cool store. Always something interesting and new v
