Extremely loud, no seating, good brats & kraut. – First of all, the selection is truly impressive. However, I would not go there with a crowd larger than 3, MAYBE 4--you'll NEVER find a place to sit. Also, it HAS to be against firecode to have as many people crammed in as they do. The service is, at best, ok. It's hard to get anyone's attention, and I wouldn't go there unless I had a good 2.5-3+ hours to spend there. It's definitely not a quick dinner type of place. Also, no one tells you you have to seat yourself and pray f... read more
Bad Attitudes All Around – I have been to this place about 5 times. The first time was 3 years ago. The experience was not bad. If I were rating based on that experience alone, I would give the place at least an 8. Large place, nice scenic atmosphere. A LOT of beer variety on tap, which is why I liked the place. Every time since the first time I have been there, the service has been lousy. The waitresses are rude, unknowing, and generally slow. No service with a smile. Frowns all around. If you don't like waiting on people i... read more
Thumbs down! – Where to start? The place is big, has a cool look despite the bright lighting, and the whole wall of taps and beer club are pretty cool assets. We sat at the bar, took 2-3 minutes and ordered some beers. All of our beers were not cold enough. They weren't quite warm, but the carbonation just wrong! It's either the temperature, a bad keg, or a bad pouring technique. Either way I wasn't impressed. Even less impressive were the bartenders. I think we had 4 different bartenders serve us. The three women were stuck... read more
Great hangout place on Thursdays – Downtown has had a downhill slide, but the Saucer still has a great crowd, especially on Thursday and Friday nights. It's large so you can have a big group. It gets pretty loud, but the seating upstairs is a little more tame for those who have bad hearing!
Fun Place – I been here a couple of times, always a great crown, friendly people, good looking waitresses, good prices. I dont drink beer but the bartenders made up for it with the potent mixes.
A Fantastic Bar – You've got to try this if you like beer. The waitresses are all smoking hot and know tons of information about beer. What else could a developing beer connoisseur need? Until about 7 there's work-type folks in there but on a Saturday night it's full of a good looking 20-30yr old crowd. I've never tried the food but it looks good and isn't priced bad either. Try one of the flights your first time to get a sampling of the Saucer's best brews. Try Young's Double Chocolate Stout if you're feeling adventurous, i... read more
NO! NO! NO!, Mon eet ees not filty!!!! – Awesome drauhgt house! Great place to meet friends after work and make new ones. The Beer Goddesses are very knowledgeable, helpful and ....well you know, THEY'RE GODDESSES. A special hello for KRISTEN, she's my favorite.
So, you're a Beer Goddess? – Well, yes, there are a few, Melissa and Marissa to start, really cute, often friendly and outstanding beer knowledge, helpful with beer and food suggestions too. Adam, the knowledgeable, entertaining, glass twirling bartender is an asset as well. Great place overall with a beer selection is outstanding. I would agree that too bad there isn't one in Chicago or Milwaukee or Madison for that matter, I would entertain investing in one.
great place – The Flying Saucer was an awsome beer joint. The selcection was outstanding and our "Beer Goddess" was more than willing to help find a beer that suited our tastes. They have this club you can join for $14 bucks and once you've drank 200 beers, you get your name on a saucer which they plank on the wall for all to see. Too bad there isn't one in Chicago or I would have bought one.
