Average service. The setting is good. The food is not particularly refined. The quality of the ingredients is at best fair. And sometimes very disappointing, for example the chicken almost tasted like plastic. It’s not fresh out of the grill.
I have always loved the place itself, beautifully appointed, lovely at day or night. I used to eat there years ago and loved it then. The room is still the same with a comfortable but elegant modern Victorian air; lots of wood, antique art prints , a pretty bar, and a variety of comfortable seating situations makes it a great place to meet a friend for a long, chatty lunch, which is what I did recently...
