This Italian restaurant is a very popular North End establishment. Filet Minion, Lobster Ravioli and Swordfish are the most requested menu entrees. The restaurant also serves the old standbys with new twists like Twice-Breaded Chicken Parmesan. There is an open-air bistro effect at the Florentine Café, which features red oak woodwork and Italian murals on the walls. This restaurant has a full liquor license and a fine wine selection.

Great meal – I've been to FC a several times. Mostly in the summer. My meals were always fresh & delcious & service was normal for a busy summer evening. I found the staff to be knowledgeable & pleasant. We didn't feel rushed or ignored. The food is phenomenal & the ambiance is upbeat & lively. Def worth a trip. As always with the North End, take a cab or valet. Parking is minimal at best.
Romantic setting, but Service is lacking – My husband and I spent our anniversary in Boston this weekend. We had lunch at the Florentine Cafe one of the days. It was not yet busy, and our food arrived quickly. The waitress though threw out my food that I was taking with me and offered no solution to me. I was very unhappy.
Great Date Place! Regardless of the season, the Florentine Cafe will lay the setting for the perfect, romantic date.
Great Date Place! Regardless of the season, the Florentine Cafe will lay the setting for the perfect, romantic date. During the summer months, grab a drink at the bar, while you wait for a seat by the huge open windows. Nothing like a little fresh, summer air to amp your apetite for some delicious homemade pasta! If its during the winter season, request seating on the bottom floor. You'll be engulfed by the warm beautiful dim candle light, and a cozy homey Italian atmosphere. You may even get serenaided! The prices are good ... read more
Definitely good – It's a shame some people had bad service, because we go quite regularly and the staff is always friendly and remembers us. The food is awesome, the chef is very nice and friendly. If you want to check it out but spend less money, go during lunch. They are very busy during the Summer, especially weekends. They are also willing to let you try a taste of wine to see if you like it, and are usually willing to alter dishes for you. Don't take recommendations for parties of fewer than 6. Also have a pretty down s... read more
Very good, very expensive – A group of friends and I went here after we found we couldn't get into Alloro (which came recommended and was just down the street but a lot more cramped in terms of space). The food was excellent, but we paid for it. I think there are cheaper places around, but in all, we thought it was worth it.
Romatic – This open air dining setting creates a romantic mood as the candelight flickers on your table. Delicious food and great wine. A really nice place to go on a date. Great ambiance. The decor includes a wall painting of Boston most famous. It is definitaly worth the long wait.
Loved it! – While you may have to wait a while for a table, its well worth the wait! A great place to visit in the North End - especially if you want to enjoy great food while still getting to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere that the North End offers - all by simply looking thru the large, open windows out to Hanover Street! Very interesting crowd....a fun, buzzing bar/restaurant experience!
