This Italian restaurant is a very popular North End establishment. Filet Minion, Lobster Ravioli and Swordfish are the most requested menu entrees. The restaurant also serves the old standbys with new twists like Twice-Breaded Chicken Parmesan. There is an open-air bistro effect at the Florentine Café, which features red oak woodwork and Italian murals on the walls. This restaurant has a full liquor license and a fine wine selection.

Great Date Place! Regardless of the season, the Florentine Cafe will lay the setting for the perfect, romantic date. During the summer months, grab a drink at the bar, while you wait for a seat by the huge open windows. Nothing like a little fresh, summer air to amp your apetite for some delicious homemade pasta! If its during the winter season, request seating on the bottom floor. You'll be engulfed by the warm beautiful dim candle light, and a cozy homey Italian atmosphere. You may even get serenaided! The prices are good ... read more
Avoid at all costs – The North End is well known for an abundance of wonderful Italian restaurants, so I am not sure how The Florentine Cafe snuck in under the radar. What I love about restaurants in Little Italy is the authenticity, ambiance, service and, of course, the cuisine! Unfortunately, for the unsuspecting patrons, The Florentine Cafe falls woefully short. SERVICE: Absolutely horrendous. 15 minutes after letting our waiter know that we needed a "minute or two" to decide on drinks, he finally came back to take our or... read more
Don't be lured by its charm-- it's not worth it! – I went to Florentine Cafe last night for dinner and I was severely disappointed. The large crowd of people inside made the restaurant lookpromising, but the food definitely did not deliver. We ordered the calamari and the black peppper pasta dish with lobster, scallops, and small clams. The calamari was pretty good, but the marinara had a funky taste. The size of the pasta dish was ridiculously small-- the description of the dish made it sound like you were getting a large a... read more
Worst in the N.E – It can't get any worst then this place, the service is below average and the food tasted like it was made in the microwave, the yelling in the kitchen, the bartenders are the managers and they're very rude and arrogant, the downstairs has a horrible smell!!!!!!!! I will never comeback here again and stay away from this below average place.
Good wait staff – The place was clean, and wait staff we had was really accommodating and very professional. I think that's what made up for the food. I ordered Linguini con vignole (linguini n' clams) in red sauce. It said on the menu it would be a little spicy but what it need was spices. It was a bit cold when it was served. My husband had the filetto and he raved about the risotto. The filet mignon was ok- didn't have any taste (seemed they forgot to add spices...again or at least salt and pepper). It was a meal for no t... read more
Best & Biggest Martini ******* – All you need is one and be very careful!!!!!!!! if you have two!!!!!!!!!! The name Martini has become an all-encompassing appellation. Stretched to include a rainbow assortment of liqueurs, mixers, spirits and garnishes, it blankets the cocktail category ?? when oftentimes the concoction is simply a drink in a specialized glass. This is not likely to change, so marketing Martinis has become something every bartender, must do daily and the Florentine Is # one In my book. ******* Parking in Nor... read more
Terrible Experience, but Good food – I went to the Floretine Cafe with my husband for our anniversary. We ordered appetizers and meals. My Caprese salad was very small - especially when I saw the huge one that was served to the table next to me. My meal came and was delicious, as was my husband's. I could not finish it all, so I asked the waitress to wrap it up for me. She never returned with it, and when I asked her about it she said, "Oh you wanted it. I didn't hear you say that." She walked away and never came back (she h... read more
Best Italian Food in North End!!! – I recently took my out of town friend to Florintine Cafe with a bunch of girl friends. It is a quaint restaurant with much ambiance. We were seated promptly. The waiter was good and tended to our every need. We sipped on vanilla cake martinis(highly recommended!!!) and dipped our bread into the olive oil as we waited for our food. Our food came quickly and all my friends raved about how delicious it was, especially the Pumpkin ravioli (it had a sweet pumpkin filling and was covered in this... read more
Cold Food – I went here on a recent Friday night, and was surprised to get seated right away. We ordered the calamari, which was good, but the marinara sauce given was cold. The salad was alright, although somewhat bland, and the Eggplant Parm, which was recommended by a friend, was cold. All in all, I found it a disappointing meal, and with all the great options in the neighborhood, will not be returning.
