A Nice Surprise – After reading reviews of this hotel I was a bit concerned. I made a late reservation for two weeks before Christmas and got a good deal on a renovated room. We arrived on a Friday night and the check-in process was easy and quick considering it was a mid-town hotel. The location is great. Easy walking distance to most tourist attractions. L A R G E is an understatment – I had the pleasure of staying at the "Flat" this past weekend and let me tell you.....WOW. The room was huge with a luxorious king size bed. The decor was very shiek and the room had wrap around windows. I travel often and found this hotel to be an exceptional value. The only negative is the elevators, they are way to slow. The staff is extremely friendly and competent. Excellant concierge. The outdoor restaurant is a must visit.
Super value – I stayed in Flatotel in May this year. The room is very very spacious with a really nice bed, well equiped kitchen, big windows for great view, and a dinning area. It is really an apartment itself. This floor hasn't been renovated yet. But the "unit" is pretty new to me. Since the hotel is still under a lengthy renovation, some of the areas are not that nice, e.g. the elevator. But overall, this is an EXCEPTIONAL value. Midtown's best – Clean, spacious rooms. Friendly and accommodating staff. Modern fitness room on the top floor with a fab view of the city--I loved watching the sunrise over Manhattan from up here. Very convenient location.
