crowded, fun family spot – seafood was really good. Although pricey, portions were huge. Service was ok. Upstairs patio with ocean view was fun. Good family atmosphere and big, happy crowd.

Good food, but crappy service – I have only been to Fish Tales once, as I live in Houston and do not go to Galveston too often. I had the catfish, which I thought was really good, but our waiter was horrible. He was never around to refill our drinks or anything. Also, the food was a little pricey at dinner time, but the lunchtime prices seemed a little more decent. There was a great view from the upstairs balcony, so when you go, ask to sit there...especially at sunset.

Horrible Experience – Tried this place after seeing the crowds going in on Saturday. Didnt mind the wait upstairs at the bar, but the bartender had a serious attitude when we asked for a specialty drink menu. Excuse me, but how are we supposed to know whats in a KILLER WHALE? Anyway, didnt take long for seating and we got a dirty table. After ordering the calamari, we got it in 3 minutes (on a busy Saturday?) which means it was already cooked. Had no flavor. On our second bite, the food arrived! Luke warm and nasty. We wont ... read more

Typical fare. – I had wanted to go by this restaurant everytime I visited Galveston, but never got the chance to. When I finally did I was terribly disappointed. The menu is unimaginative and pretty typical. The Mai Tai was average. The bill was overpriced for the quality of the food. The patio seating was nice for people watching, but I will not be going there again.

Big Fish Story... – This was our initiation into Galveston Seawall food; my husband and I had just arrived to live only a few blocks from the restaurant, and it was our first meal on the island. We were VERY pleased with the food. The lump- crabmeat-and-shrimp-cobb-salad was heavenly (sweet crab, succulent shrimp, mild avocado, smoky bacon...MMMMMM!!!); also I HIGHLY recommend the shrimp appetizer that is stuffed with cheese & jalapenos & fried (sorry, can't recall its name). AWESOME!! The service was okay; we were never kep... read more

I suggest everyone visit this place. I have lived in Houston for 21 years and I just wanted to say, BRING YOUR GIRL here. This is probably the closest to CALI, FL, VIRINGIA settings you will ever get. Tell them you want to sit up stairs outside... around 6 pm. It was just beautiful. The wait was average time, but that's understandable because they are fantastic. Everyone wants to be there. Anyhow, food is simply delicious and medium in the pockets. GREAT PLACE!

Not a waiter in sight!!! – We tried to eat at Fish Tales on Friday night at 8 pm. There LITERALLY were ONLY 10-15 people dining and yet waitstaff was everywhere. We were seated at a dirty table (clean tables were everywhere!!) and were told someone would show up to serve us. Never happened. The hostess finally gave us drinks, since our waitress was busy with "phantom" diners. After sitting for a near 20 minutes, I said we were leaving, and suddendly one appeared...but only to tell us the glass of Coke we ordered was $2.05!!!... read more

OK Food - Bland Service – The food at Fish Tales is not bad, but I would just not expect much from the service. The waitress could hardly speak up, spoke very softly, and constantly had to remind herself of our order. The atmosphere is nice, and would be fun with a large group. Just do not go in with high expectations and you will do fine.
