I am very upset. I was quite pleased with my care and services of FirstLight Home Care, until the Big Beautiful Bill was passed and the fees for Medicaid were cut in that Bill. NOW FirstLight is dropping ALL Medicaid clients, because they won't be making as much $$$'s per hour. I was given a 30 day notice, I too will be dropped. I am disabled, unable to do many chores myself - is this going to result in me and others having to go live in a facility? Time will tell. How will this save government $$$$'s???? The First Light Office personnel are very courteous and helpful. Their employees need more guidance and instruction how to clean from the homeowner and the employers. I have had kind people come in to help and they have been overall great.
I contacted Firstlight in Grand Junction from a flyer I received. I asked them for care on Friday, May 23, and Saturday May 24, 2025, to check in on my mom who cannot get around very easy. I was told this was a two-hour minimum, which I didn't mind. Imagine my surprise when the in-home care lady showed up on Thursday, May 22 and said she was only working through Friday evening and she can only stay an hour. There wasn't much for her do, a bit of cleaning up cat dishes after feeding them and helping my mom if she needed it. S... read more
