Best BBQ ever! – The place is far from fancy, but it's always packed, with a line out the door. And it's worth the wait. Their macaroni salad is awesome,with a spicy kick. But all their sides are great. And the BBQ sauce they use is addicting. I also love their homemade sweet tea. Not the best place to sit down and eat, with all the shouting of orders behind the counter, and the stuffy, hot air in the restaurant, so I would recommend carry out. But definitely worth a trip!
Florida's Best! – Everything is good at First Choice...the food, the service, the value, the smell, etc...I've eaten BBQ across the country and First Choice certainly stands out from the rest. The ONLY complaint is just about any time you go there will be a line...lunch AND dinner. But the wait is absolutely worth it. I recommend the ribs and pork. If you like collard greens they are the best I've had, but they not on the menu so be sure to ask for them!
Best in the Area – Each and every time I go to First Choice, the food is outstanding...and they don't skimp on anything. The service is fast and friendly. Having dined at several other restaurants on this list, it's no contest. First Choice blows away the competition.
The food is great! – The food is great and the people are just as down home as the food. If you listen they will play a tune with the utensils as they prepare your food. Fast service and cheap prices and the best french fries I have ever tasted!!!
Best Barbecue in Tampa Area – First Choice is the best barbecue in the Tampa area - period! If you love ribs or pulled pork, this is the place to go. You order at the counter and seat yourself. There is usually a line around lunch hour, but it moves quickly. It is in Brandon and a bit of a hike if you in North Tampa, but it is worth the drive if you are in the mood for real southern barbecue. I have eaten at most if not all of the restaurants on the list. First Choice is, far and away, better than any of them.
Really Really Ridculously Good Barbeque! – I've had a lot of barbeque, big barbeque fan, and this is by FAR the best barbeque I've ever had! My friend works at Smokey Bones and he thinks First Choice is the best barbeque as well--highly recommended
