KB HomeandFirst American Title(escrow) was deceptive--document handling and lack of transparency. Our lot map referenced a recorded map (under builder seal at the City of San Marcos). The recorded map was in the Preliminary Title Report (PTR). The PTR was conflated with the legal property description in the deed at final signing. Absolutely ridiculous title company. Charging for title insurance, but fail to advise and correct a title issue. Left us to pay the tax assesor for something that was not our fault. A year and half later, we finally started receiving the reversals from the assesor's office, only to find out the last check went to this title company instead of the property seller/owner. Now I am calling to retrieve payment and no one calls back or knows what is happening.
Escrow and title insurance is not trustworthy. They said I signed for a prelim title that does not exist on their portal. They send the complete map no 16518 post mail weeks after we close escrow showing three adjacent neighbors and not two as annotated in our builder's FALSE lot map. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ESCROW AND TITLE.
Checking account runs like a credit card account.. don't do it.. and new updates won't let you see your balance on each transaction... so taking my money for sure!!!
