Fun for everyone! This place is definately a MUST to visit if you are planning a trip to Chicago. The Field Museum has something for everyone. The kids loved seeing Sue, the giant T-Rex on display. They also loved the dinosaur room where they had several other dinosaurs on display including a pteradactyl. My wife and I loved the Egyptian exhibit which allows you to do deep into a replica of a pyramid. They have a room filled with the prettiest gems you have ever seen. Admission is a bit pricey but where else can you find a p... read more

Have A Fun Day at the Field Museum! The field museum is one of the best history museums ever. The dinosaur exhibit is excellent and you cant beat the price you pay for the things you can learn in one hour if not the whole day. I would highly recommend this museum to anyone visiting or a permanent Chicago resident! PROS: Everything! CONS: Nothing!

Boooring This place would be great for families with small kids or anthropology buffs, but if you're not into seeing a bunch of dead animals that you could see for free alive at the Lincoln Park Zoo and some uninteresting cultural artifacts, I'd avoid this museum. Its basically a less interesting version of the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. I'd spend my money on the other museums in Chicago like the Musuem of Science and Industry and Art Institute.

So many things to see.... Chicago's Field Museum isn't one of the most visited for no reason - it's amazing! They have so many exhibits that you really need to go several times to take it all in. One of the best parts is the dinosaurs - real dinosaur bones and replications with great descriptions. Also check out the gems. They have a huge display of rare gemstones which will leave any woman drooling. There is also a great section on the evolution of man. Beware that there will be large groups of school children during the we... read more

one of the best museums We love this museum for its fantastic Egyptian display, but there is always something new and interesting on display here. It's not too geared towards kids, but they do have some things for them. The only downside is the ridiculous cost of admission and extras (yes, some exhibits are not even part of the general admission cost!) and the restaurants aren't exactly cheap as well. It's a good place to visit 1-2 a year.

best museum i ever seen Field Museum of Natural Industry is an educational museum of nature. They have several exhibits including dinosaurs, mammals, Africa, Asia and mummies to name a few. It is located on the Lake Shore right next to Lake Michigan. It is a excellent place to bring your children to learn natural history with several displays. The Field Museum is so big, you can practically spend the entire day just going through all the exhibits. They also have new exhibits each year as last year they had the Jackie Kennedy... read more

museum This is a great museum to visit. There's lots to see here, mummys, dinosaurs, and much more. My favorite part of the museum is the precious stones chamber -- there's so many neat stones here! This is a great place to check out and there's lots to see and learn here. Also, they offer good discounts to students and children, so you can get a bargain out of the experience too!

Just another great Chicago musuem Another amazing Chicago museum. It's right on the lake on the "museum campus" (located within walking distance from the Planetarium and the Aquarium). What I always remember about this museum are the dinosaur displays (a giant T-rex recontructed in the main room named Sue) and the Egyptian exhibits. One time when I was little the museum was closing and they locked me and my dad in the mummy room accidentally! We found a security guard luckily... the mummies are very cool but I certainly didn... read more

Field Museum The museum is a little pricey but I think it is a great place to spend an afternoon. Seeing the dinosaur bones and other exhibits were very interesting to learn about. It is a great place to take a school group of kids. Very educational for people of all ages.
