CHOOSE WISELY - CHOOSE FIDUCIARY PARTNERS: My family has had two extremely different experiences with Trust services -- one terrible, and one wonderful. In one case, a very large, reputable Wisconsin law firm served as trustee, never followed the terms of the trust, charged the trust to correct errors they had made, and were very unresponsive. About Trustee services I've heard many friends discuss the terrible ordeal they were left to handle after the passing of a parent, and how it strained relationships with surviving family members. When I describe our family's experience with Fiduciary Partners, they can't believe it. FP handled everything compassionately and seamlessly -- finances, taxes, home sale, etc. They allowed us to focus on a Celebration of Life for our Mother/ Grandmother/Great Grandmother while they handled everything else. My experience has been quite mixed. Some good, but the not-do-good, extremely frustrating. I cannot believe the amount of time they let go by to allow access to funds for basic living expenses. It is as if what is said is simply what they think you wanna hear. Anything not to give up control of someone else's money?! Good place to put any type of trust to set it and forget it. But if you have a trust that you financial lean on heavy to make ends meet(if you are on a fixed income i.e. social security disability)this isn't the place. For people that have a trust fund that they don't financially depend on this is a good place to park it and forget it.
