Fiddler's Crab House

3.9

About this business

If you came to Savannah looking for seafood, look no further. Fiddler's stands as perhaps River Street's most beloved source of the whole gamut of undersea delights. Crab cakes and steamed crab legs, of course, are the house specialty, but the menu also offers live lobster, shrimp and shellfish harvested from regional waters and a nice selection of more land-friendly fare. A respectable and reasonably-priced wine list complements the menu, and a full bar service is available in both the lounge area and restaurant proper.

This place is in the perfect location and the food and employees are awesome! When you visit there ask for Gene, and he’ll take excellent care of you. The environment and music sets the mood for food, fun, and a good time. I love this place.

Alexandria was amazing!!! The food was delicious! They reserved seats for our large crowd due to the Beta Convention! The customer service was out of this world! Great Job guys!

I got severe food poisoning from eating the crab legs. Call the next day to complain about it and the manager said I didn't have food poisoning because it takes 12 hrs to hit. Will never go there again. glad I lived to take about it.

I was looking forward to a good meal at Fiddlers on River Street. I quickly found out it isn’t what it used to be. Seafood Alfredo was not as good as what you get from a can. Very disappointed. My son got a Ribeye that was mostly fat and not as good as what you get at Waffle House and far more expensive. The green beans were most likely straight from a can and the red rice was horrible. The only two items of average quality was the Blackened Mahi and Gator bites. It does have a reasonably good atmosphere.

Food was great. Service was a little slow but I felt the prices where a bit high for what you got.

First time in Savannah, looked at all the restaurant menus outside and this place looked decent. Sat upstairs. Before we ordered the seafood platter we asked the price because it says market price. Waiter said $24.99 for 1 person 54.99 for 2. Food was amazing. We got our bill. For the platter for 1 came up as $36.99. I asked the waiter why he said one price but I see different number. He said no I said $34.99 ( says $36.99 on receipt) for 1 and $54.99 for 2. He said he definitely wouldn't have said that price. We paid anyway... read more

Not a good place to eat. Service was poor. We had to keep asking for items at our table and they were focused on side tasks more than our table. Don't order the Shrimp and Grits, it was just bad. It was tail on shrimp, a few if which weren't even peeled all the way in an excess pile of cheap tasting, flavorless grits. It was way overpriced for what I received. Check out RiverHouse next door for the same price point and much better service and food.

They told us 20-25 min wait to sit down which we were fine with because obviously this is a restaurant in a tourist town and i get that there’s gonna be a wait. But after we sit down, 20 mins go by , nobody asked to take our drink order, nobody apologized for the wait, nobody even came to our table. Then finally we ask somebody if we can just put in our drink orders and they were like “your server is busy.” The service was absolutely horrible, the food wasn’t even good for the price and the wait time. Wouldn’t recommend this... read more
