I have been a regular customer of Home Hardware Lakeshore for years, but my recent experience was very disappointing. I purchased an item and 2 weeks later decided to return it (it didn't work as expected). I was able to provide the original receipt, but because the item no longer had its original packaging, I was told by staff that neither a refund nor store credit could be provided. I went in yesterday with my husband, I went right up to the counter because I had a package to return through fedex and my husband went into the store to look around. The young man working the fedex returns didn't even acknowledge me, just took my package to process it as he continued to speak to the other employee at the other cash. The only time he spoke to me was to ask if I wanted my receipt printed or emailed. I guess his conversation with the other employee about someone who had dropped off a resume was more important.... read more

I stopped by today to grab a live trap. A young gentleman retrieved it from the top shelf for me and was very polite and kind. The two people at the front desk were also very polite and pleasant. These three workers were a breath of fresh air, so helpful, friendly and well-mannered. Service went above and beyond, and the company is very lucky to have them as employees.
