Ferrara claims to be America's first espresso bar, and whether it is or it is not, patrons can agree that it has been around for a long time. And despite whether they are first, second or third, the quality and quantity of their desserts and espresso merit acclaim. Since 1892, this pastry shop has been serving patrons delicious dolci and even amidst the hustle and bustle of modernity outside, this place still transports you to another era while inside.

Initially we were told we could get two seatings for three for a party of six ... we agreed ... in five minutes we had our order in and then the hostess brought over another table and extra chair so we could all sit together ... that's awesome service !!!
We are staying on the hotel across the street and had brunch there today. You can't oversell how delicious this place is. We each had a cafe mocha which were phenomenal. Starbucks can't even begin to compete. My husband has the French toast, which was great, and I had the breakfast pizza and it was freaking amazing! Service was ok, not awesome. DID.NOT.MATTER. The food was worth any minor inconveniences caused by waitstaff.
Service and the food was just so so . Nothing wonderful about it at all . The coffee tasted bitter. The bill was $185.00 for 9 people and not everyone had deserts Ferrara has gotten too expensive and the quality in the dessert sizes went down.
I've been coming here since I was a kid. The pastries, gelato, and coffee never get old. A true staple of Little Italy and NYC itself!
We always stop there on our way back to nj . We always enjoy going to feast every yr.
Was a little disappointed. Had the honey balls and they were so stale...the best were the pignoli cookies and the Italian ice tea. Staff weren’t very friendly either.
Awesome place love going every time I’m in Little 🇮🇹 Italy.....great staff, very accommodating.....dessert.....what can I say but “I wanted them ALL”
We went there for Gelato and cappuccino. It was packed because we went during San Gennaro fest and it was busier than ever. We had to wait about 45 mins to get gelato and then wait outside line for cappuccino. Staffs were rude I guess due to the fest. Gelato was ok. I had better.
Legendary icon of NYC for Italian Pastries! Awesome and yummy!
