After living here for 2 years, I'd describe this place as the Walmart of luxury apartment options in the area. Not as pricey as your luxury options in Royal Oak, and just a step above your standard economical apt options. Biggest advantages of this place for me were the convenient location (right on 9 mile, within skipping distance of 2 grocery stores) and a decently equipped gym (as opposed to more of a fitness center in the 409 on Nine - your other okay-ish luxury apt option in the area). My introduction to FH was Charlene - I walked in more than a year ago and got the tour with her. At the time I was shopping for a 2 bedroom in and around Royal Oak/Ferndale. They're in the right location but I haven't been able to get a floorplan out of them for a week and I need that floorplan because the entire website is broken.
I moved to FerndaleHaus about a year ago and just happily renewed - it has been a fantastic experience all around. One of the things I was looking for other than walkability was a sense of community in the place that I live and this is something that Charlene and Aurora have built wonderfully. I have a lot of fun attending the ~monthly community events which give me a chance to meet and get to know more of my neighbors. I have lived at FerndaleHaus for over 2 years now. I absolutely love living here and I hope to be here for years to come! My favorite part about living here is the leasing agent, Charlène and the manager, Aurora. The management of this building has truly fostered a wonderful community atmosphere and encourages residents to meet each other and make friends. Charlène and Aurora are rays of sunshine for Ferndale and I always enjoy seeing them in the office!
