Fenton's has been an Oakland institution for over 100 years, serving up homemade ice cream and deluxe toppings, along with all your classic American diner favorites. You can always get a juicy burger with fries, or cranberry turkey sandwich, but the real draw are the sweets. Fenton's serves up everything from your basic flavored ice cream cone to a super-deluxe sundae or an incredible milkshake. Besides high quality ice cream, the toppings are a huge favorite here, especially the marshmallow sauce.

It’s Fentons. What more is there to say? It’s an insitution for a reason. Great ice cream. Great food. Great service. We don’t live in Oakland anymore, but Fentons Is a MUST anytime we come up to the Bay Area.
A Bay Area classic. Best ice cream around. And the lunch food is tasty too.
The ice cream was delicious as usual, one scoop each of bordeaux cherry and pineapple coconut. The meal was egg salad (1st time and tasty) and onion rings. Those onion rings are the best I have ever had, never cared for them before Fentons.

My parents took me there when it was on 41st Street. I raised my kids there & they are raising their kids there. 3 generations for Fenton’s...lovin it.
I grew up with Fenton’s when there was the counter we could sit at and watch everything be made. I am 99% positive that Eloise was our regular waitress and she rocked. So glad they came back after that horrible fire & love the way they remodeled. We celebrated my brothers 50th there & had the BEST day. Still the Ultimate Ice Cream Parlor and Restaurant. �����
This is an iconic and historic ice cream parlor. The servings are huge, the service is friendly, and the food is excellent! Parking is difficult. I can remember when a milkshake was 35 cents!
