I have a firm mattress. It is great for my lower back, but I was getting hip pain from sleeping on my side. I tried memory foam and fiber-fill mattress toppers, which didn't help. I then ordered a medium 2" thick latex topper from Fawcett. I can now sleep on my side with no hip pain! The customer service was exceptional. The topper arrived in a box with two wheels and a handle, so hauling it to the bedroom was easy. They gave me detailed written and video instructions on how to unpack the topper.
