Fatty's off the Ditmars stop in Astoria serves up a great selection of Latin and American delights. One of the hipper Astorian eateries, Fatty's plays a loud track of music to groove to while eating and drinking. This can create a tendency for shouting that shouldn't be required at such a low-key establishment. In the summer there's a small patio with umbrella tables, which can be great fun. The full, yet compact bar can offer a nice seating alternative. Servers are chipper, and help make Fatty's an excellent spot for weeken... read more

Decent burgers and beer selection; bad service – By the look of the reviews on this site it looks like the owner has been consistently giving it a good rating. I can`t see giving this place five stars. The burgers are pretty good, although last time I went it came with the bun on the bottom and without the requested cheese or fries. First time I went the service was great, but the rushed and rude service a second time will probably keep me away.
Amazing brunch, cool outdoor seating space, affordable, consistently quality eats on Ditmars – I am so happy that I live basically around the corner from Fatty's. The owner is a great guy who goes out of his way to make the patrons feel right at home. I am an especially big fan of the weekend brunches - particularly their take on mofongo - but I also highly recommend the polenta cakes. Fantastic bloody mary's too! The menu selections have a health conscious edge and they do up a terrific burger and great Cuban sandwiches. I ... read more
Neighborhood favorite The food is consistently excellent, it has a better-than-average beer list (all in bottles, alas), and the mojitos are made with genial enthusiasm rather than resignation. Fatty's is too down-to-earth to run like a well-oiled machine or boast of "service with a smile," but even during its most hectic times the staffers are genuinely friendly and make duly diligent efforts to be efficient.
Great food, good prices, fun people. This place definitely makes Astoria a lot more fun! The pork chops and burgers are awesome and they have a pretty good selection of beers. Next door at Crescent and Vine, Fatty's sister bar, the wine selection is awesome - hand-selected by the knowledgeable bartenders :)
Nice, affordable restaurant – As an Astoria resident, Fatty's is always a nice option for a meal out - in particular I recommend their Black Bean Dip to start, and then one of their burger options with Sweet Potato Fries. Additionally, their fish with fried yucca is pretty fabulous too. Great bottled beer selection, and pretty solid wine options, too. Friendly staff, but food will take a while, so it's certainly worth ordering an appetizer.
Lots of Hype – Fatty's gives large portions, particularly of the salad greens and side orders, but the food was not spectacular. The burgers and sandwiches are fairly tasteless and the burger was surprisingly gristly, so to mess up a classic like that is a bummer. They have a good selection of bottled beers, but nothing on tap. It didn't break the bank, but it was nothing to write home about either. The staff were accomodating so it was disappointing to not like the food here with all these good reviews - maybe this was just... read more
Cheap, great eats – This is definitely one of my favorites in Astoria. I come here with friends and family all the time, and have never been disappointed. The prices are great and the food is amazing: try the steak mixed grill. You get a giant heap of food including juicy pieces of steak, a variety of veggies, and in the middle is a mound of hummus, along with pita on the side. The little place can get crowded, but in the spring and summer, the courtyard in the back is opened up. I recommend sitting out there. Last time I we... read more
Phatty Neighborhood Joint – Fatty's is fun for brunch and dinner in the Ditmars area of Astoria. Drinks are killer here, though the tab can get high if you hang around too long. The establishment is cash only however, so bring some money if intend on bringing a date out here.
Great food, prices, people; Fatty's is a real neighborhood place! – If you want to leave your house keys so that your house guests can pick them up while you are at work, Fatty's is the place. Fatty's is more than a restaurant, Fatty's is a living room for your family. Fatty's is exemplary of a little community. Food is great, original sandwiches, Mojitos are fantastic, the beer selection is the best in Queens, I can't say enough to get it into one review. This place rocks!
