About this business
History Established in 1984. Once upon a time there was a family called "Nature" . Naturally mother nature was involved with her natural stuff, while Father Nature was in the family kitchen putting out exceptionally good and natural food. Then one day after a long talk over dinner, mother nature encouraged him to make his dream a realty. In spring of 1984, Father Nature's Cafe was established in Tarzana CA. This place is worth it for the Seinfeld-esque atmosphere. Once you order there is no place to sit so you have to mill around in the no-man's-land between the door and the register. You spend most of your time dodging the new customers and the people throwing their garbage out. There's also the guy behind the counter who always looks depressed no matter what you order and the woman who makes the sandwiches seems resigned to her fate. The food is typically good middle eastern type stuff which you usually regret after eating.
Excellent food. Great service, but can be slow at lunchtime (best to call ahead). I've been eating there on a regular basis for 5 years now. #9 or the cheese baguette w/ chicken breast.
Very convienent for people who work in Old Town, but the food is aggressively dry, and some of their better dishes take forever to make.
I think this is the kind of place you can only eat at once or twice. The food is very good, but the portions are large! You feel stuffed if you eat all they give you.
Pretty good healty food - my favorite is the #4 grilled veggie wrap and the lentil soup!
