Burger was awesome!! Fries were hot and crispy!! Loved that they sold Kool-aid!!
The bison burger was amazingly delicious! Perfectly seasoned and cooked. The homemade chips were tasty as well. Great atmosphere with really great food. We'll definitely come back when we're in town again!
Good food. I wasn't expecting great, and it wasn't. A little more pricey than it should be for a greasy burger but it was good fun.
By far and away the best burger joint in Southern Illinois. The employees are always super nice and the burgers are amazing! Bonus-Excel cane sugar sodas!! SoIll staple.

Does anyone remember the movie Demolition Man ?.. well in the movie all the restaurants were Taco Bell .. I believe all the restaurants should be Fat Patties!.LOL. Lance, you have an excellent thing goin on! Keep it up!
We were in Carbondale yesterday for the Southern Illinois High School Classic track and field meet at SIU. During some downtime, we took the short trip to Fat Patties based on my brother's recommendation (he lives in Marion and was formerly a Carbondale resident). I knew as soon as I walked in, I was probably going to get some good food. The burgers are friggin' excellent. Glad you liked it! Fries, potato salad, Cole slaw, etc, can be tough. There are so many possible choices, and everyone has their favorite kind. So, we just make sure the quality is there, and hope you find something that suits your taste. As for the ventilation, being in an old building, that we don't own, makes it tough. We hope we can afford an upgrade in the future. Thanks for coming in. Hopefully the track meet was also a success!
I was introduced by a friend and I continue to introduce this place to all my friends! I wouldn't want to buy a burger anywhere else! The only reason I give it a four and not a five is bc they need to work on ventilation. When they get even the slightest bit busy the entire place is smoked out and when it's cold outside you're forced to stay inside.

We completely agree about the ventilation. It can get a bit smokey during high volume periods. Unfortunately, we are in an old building, that we don't own, and the cost of a 21st century exhaust system is currently beyond our reach. We continue to squirrel away the nickels in hopes of an eventual upgrade. Until then, we like to think of it as a throw back to old school Carbondale. Thanks for understanding, and your support!
