Family Nights at Fat's – Good pizza, a nice selection of Italian entrees, fresh salads, one of the better bottled beer selections around - all at reasonable prices. Take these and put them into a small, neighborhoody atmosphere with a friendly waitstaff and you have Fat Lorenzo's. Some Pizza with Your Cheese – Fat Lorenzo's was a place that we went to right before hopping onto 77 after a fun day at Lake Nokomis. What better way to end a day than with pizza?! We ordered a hoagie and some slices of pizza. The hoagie was OK and the pizza slices were HUGE. The main problem? They try and win you over with cheese. I wouldn't be surprised if there was ONE CUP of mozzarella on my one slice. Not the Best pizza – While Fat Lorenzo's puts together a good pizza, it lacks the style and emphasis to put it in the league with other local establishments like the Original Green Mill, Broeders or Olde Pipper Inn. The slices are sizeable, and taste good enough but there are no distinguishing traits between this pizza and Old Chicago or other chains. Over rated – Fat Lorenzo's pizza suites the pallates of those who don't know good pizza. Our pizza arrived with a pool of oil in the middle; the sauce was weak, and the crust simply did not compare with Cossettas or the Savoy in St. Paul. I would not bother to go back!
They have pizza? – Never had the pizza, but the hoagies are outstanding. Veggie, meatball, whichever, you can't miss.
I enjoyed my pizza, but believed it to be very expensive for a neighborhood pizzaria.
Great pizza – Fat Lorenzo's pizza is distinctive and is some of the best in the cities. If you're looking for deep dish pizza with chunky toppings and a zesty sauce, this is the place to go. Small seating area but worth the wait.
favorite pizza outta New York! – Every time i return home to the Twin Cities -- I make a point of stopping in to see the gang at Fat Lorenzo's--not only the best pizza but thier house salad is substantial and always fresh! Granted-no airconditioning in the summer makes it sometimes uncomforatble but the pizza is so good we never mind it. If you're looking for a great meal--try Fat Lorenzo's!!!
