I concur with the reviews who believe the operation is a scam on the growing interest in DNA tests. A cumbersome service process, poor or less than knowledgeable IT. Things don't upload or downloaded video doesn't play. Direct e-mails to the CEO are blocked. Kicking myself for not finding these reviews first; it would have saved $$$$$! There's enough here to suggest to Mr. *********to issue refunds to all those who have used their customer service system to solve problems. This form should be: dates (plural) of experience. I just bought over $500 in kits last month that are now on sale for $116 less. I feel like I overpaid and was taken advantage of. I will not be recommending your company to anyone.

I went all in.. Y dna, mt dna and family finder. the only result that worked was the data that I uploaded from ancestry.com. I was very enthused to get Y dna results, very expensive. My grandpa and great died at the same time.. leaving my dad at ten years old an only son. I went 6 weeks analyzing not one surname pertaining to me and our family, before realizing at a professional level of learning curve at that point.. THE TEST WAS NOT MINE. I have tested multiple family relatives through FamilyTreeDNA. They match up with each other just as they should. I have always found their customer services to be friendly and helpful when a question or concerns shows up. I love dna projects and other tools they offer. I have made connections with cousins and learned more about my family history then I ever thought possible. I will forever be greatful for their services!!!

I paid Family Tree DNA $159.00 for an mtFull Sequence DNA test. Their advertising on their site said that I would have the results in 6 to 8 weeks. After 8 weeks I still did not see my results on their site so I emailed customer service and asked when my results would be in. I've tested with Family Tree DNA for mtDNA and Big Y tests. The results for the Big Y was slow, but it is my understanding that after the computer generated results they manually review data..

In December of 2020, I submitted DNA samples to four of the leading testing companies, 23andMe, LivingDNA, AncestryDNA, and FamilyTreeDNA. For DNA genealogy, FamilyTreeDNA is by far the most professional and they provide expert-level, detailed results. When there was a delay in providing results, it was communicated clearly. From my experience, FamilyTreeDNA is an excellent company, well-managed, with superior customer service.

I have been a customer since 2004. My brother has tested up to Y-111. I decided in 2018 to upgrade to the Y-700 test. The first sample was received by them in August 2018. After numerous testing fails, I still do not have any results on this test. They fail and then send me more samples to swab his cheeks, only to have them test and fail. Most of the time, the results are not even remotely ready within two months. The latest time, I requested two sets of samples. We did the test with two swabs on each check.
