If negative stars were a thing...this horrible, horrible company would get the max. Our move was over just over 50 miles so we were quoted by weight. We knew that our items would come in at about $1500-$1600 and they had given us a cap of $2,200 dollars for our 3-bedroom home with 2 pieces of fitness equipment, garage items and patio furniture. Since we have experienced the same move only 1.5 years before, at a cost of $1200, we were good to go. Our movers were scheduled between 8am-10am. We requested they arrive as early as possible because we had to make arrangements at two houses for work that was being done, along with a dog sitter to keep our pets out of the way and safe. At 10 am, my husband called the office to see where the movers were. He was told they would check and received a call back a few minutes later. He was told they had an issue with the truck and had to turn around and get a different one. My husband told them it would have been nice to have some notice and hung up the phone. The movers arrived over an hour later in an enterprise rental truck that was OBVIOUSLY TOO SMALL for are home. My husband met them outside and stated the truck was not going to fit our furnishings. The man who appeared to be the "crew chief" who REEKED of Marijuana stated that he was confident they could definitely fit our Items. We were in a bind, and hoped we were wrong...our move began at 11:30am. We had three movers... and only one person knew how to move. The crew chief disappeared on occasion throughout the entire day/night and returned smelling freshly pungent each time. We had everything packed and they took entirely too long to pack the truck (3.5 hours) before coming in to announce they could not fit all our furniture into their truck, so we better pick what we wanted to go. We spent an additional hour assessing what had been packed verses what had been staged into the garage and making adjustments. Again, my husband called the office to ask what their plan was in regard to this issue. We specifically hired movers to avoid multiple trips and issues. He was told if we hurried, we could rent a U-Haul and they would fill it. However, we would have to pay for it and drive it the hour+ drive, leaving one of our vehicles behind. We opted to get a crew of friends & family the following weekend to complete the move. To put the ice cream on this awful cake, the unpack was a nightmare. Beds that were "assembled" fell apart when sat on...all of the hardware/screws for my office desk were "lost" and I was told I could probably get the stuff I needed to fix it at *****. They never weighted the vehicle before they arrived and then charged our card $2,200 as a flat rate for only taking 75 percent of our stuff! I would never use them again. DON'T MAKE OUR MISTAKE!

Family Movers moved our belongings a distance of 3 miles. The move resulted in $1600 in gross damage to our furniture, attempted theft of a laptop computer, a computer tablet, a Nikon camera, and a handgun. One of the 3 movers was arrested. One of the other movers was a convicted felon! A number of other small items were missing and presumed stolen. Family Movers refused to pay anything, even the $0.60/pound of required "insurance" for furniture damage. We won a small claims judgment, but Family Movers vacated their location at 3208 Spottswood Street sometime after the judgment, making enforcement of the judgment via a writ of execution nearly impossible. If I could rate them a negative five stars, I would.

I wish to express my extreme satisfaction with the team of two men who moved our belongings February 2, 2018. They were expedient, friendly and very efficient. Each worked tirelessly and we were delighted right from 'start to finish'. The final cost was less than the estimate which was awesome. Prior contact was made to confirm the moving date and to answer any additional questions. I fully recommend Family Movers Express for your moving needs

My crew was ****, *****, and ***. Theose guys are by far the nicest, most polite movers I have ever encountered in the Raleigh area. They were polite, friendly, well mannered, and helped make the move much less stressful that what it is. I have recommended to my realtor

We hired Family Movers to move us locally in Raleigh. I was quoted $800 for 2 guys and a truck. To my surprise on the day of the move I had a total of 8 guys, that were the nicest, most polite movers i have seen. Due to military experience i have moved a lot. Once we got to the new place these guys put everything where we needed it, set up the kids beds, and also the crib. I could tell they do this often. I called the office to pay the $800 and thank them for the service. To my surprise the owner told me that the bill has already been paid and "thank you for what you have done for us overseas". I cried for an hour.
