I am a retired Marine who recently returned from Japan with my wife to pay a visit to my dying sister. Few days after arriving I developed a fever that required hospitalization because of my underlying medical condition. I was taken to Stratton VA Medical Center, Emergency Room, after checking in, I was diagnosed with having COVID-19. My husband was there 9 years ago and they treated like Royalty with honor. Beautiful Doctors oncologists nurses palliative care. Until he passed on May 11th I am very grateful for the staff at the VA Stratton Hospital
Open 24 hours, used to be for all Veterans, now unless you are here for appointments and emergency room, there are 12 seats in the lobby, once they had a smoking room with more places to sit and chat and have a smoke, but that is gone since 2019, but the mistake was they could have said no smoking but leave the room open for Veterans, some of the best therapy was between us vets agree to disagree and ideas came from those chats, some opened up about their journeys some just came in for the music, you will always get people w... read more
