watch out for their fees – Watch out for their fees. They will pile up the fees if you don't watch your account closely, but of course they don't tell you ahead of time about the fees. Before you know it $75 in fees were racked up on a $300 account. If you try to discuss it with them they are very rude and won't budge. Cannot recommend this bank at all. Closed my account and switched to a credit union where I get MUCH better service.
Poor choice for our mortgage – We found Fairport Savings to be extremely slow in processing our first mortgage. When we attempted to secure another morgage just 2 months later, Fairport even though having all of our needed information from the 1st mortgage was so slow that they allowed our contract to run out and we lost the home we were attempting to purchase. They finally sent the appraiser out to apraise the new home on the day our contract was expiring and still charged us $400 even though it was to late to buy the home ... read more
