We just wrapped up a weekend stay (May 29-31) at the Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Columbia, and I felt compelled to leave a review to recognize Grace at the front desk. Even though we weren't on site for long stretches of the day, anytime Grace was on duty, we knew we were completely taken care of. Right off the highway. Everything is super clean.
This was the second time staying here and the first time was great, but this time was not so great. We arrived and it smelt so strongly of natural gas right outside of the door it was making us feel sick. I asked the front desk lady and she said yea it’s normal. They did not have the original room we asked for and there was a softball team of girls in the lobby being loud and she told us “don’t worry you won’t be next to them” that was a lie, we were right across from them. Not family- or kid-friendly at all. We had a room with only one shared wall, and that guest made two noise complaints within 10 minutes—one about our 2-year-old taking a shower (the bathroom wasn’t even on the shared wall) and another about our newborn crying. The hotel manager told us the next step would be calling the police to file an official noise complaint.
