My Overall rating for this location is a One Star, Disappointing. The free eye exam process was good the Optometrists with many years experience did a very good exam. The ordering of the lenses the quality the workmanship of the lenses the customer service that I experienced was unsatisfactory. Too many mistakes. So I Took my business elsewhere. Tammy and Rachel were great today, they had my broken frame replaced with a same new pair and my lenses inserted in a few minutes. No charge. I was told by a Des Moines Vision for Less visit that the frames were not available and I got no other options there at all. I’m glad I rechecked it all at the Ames location!
I definitely had a five start experience! I was nervous about getting glasses, and the staff here are so friendly and helpful. Pearl was so kind, friendly and helpful. She helped me pick out glasses, she explained lenses, the cost was very reasonable, and the glasses were ready in less than an hour. It was amazing. And, I'm getting compliments on my glasses all the time!
I visited this location for an eye appointment for my 15 year old son. During the visit the optometrist asked if I was interested in purchasing contacts. I told her if my son was able to insert the contacts I didn’t mind purchasing out of pocket. He didn’t successfully insert the contacts and only received glasses. However, two months later I received a bill for $25 indicating I was being charged for insertion and removal of contacts. My name is Betty Brooks and I took a prescription from my physician to Vision for Less and I had a customer service representative name Erika Gilliam she was so professional and explained every question in detail about my insurance and help me with my eyewear. Thank you Erika for your service. I felt comfortable and not rushed.
Great visit, great glasses, wonderful and knowledgeable help. Two great associates helped me, one with selection, one with the prescription and insurance. I so appreciated all of it. I got an honest opinion on frames, and they found benefits I did not know I had, that saved me money. With that savings I bought two pair of glasses.
