I recently went to Eye Consultants of Syracuse and had a pretty disappointing experience. I asked them to include my pupillary distance on my prescription, which should be standard, but they wanted to charge me an extra $38 just to measure it. I find this to be a shady business practice, especially since most other places provide it for free as part of the prescription. If you have an appointment there, clear your day. The wait times are ridiculous. The staff is friendly though.
The website says walk-ins are welcome (for the glasses shop). When I arrived they told me I need an appointment. I pointed out that the website says otherwise and I drove 1.5 hours and there were no customers being helped. I don’t mind waiting. But I was turned away, so my family is now someone else’s customers.
I love all the people that work there. However I have an HSA account with an $8000 deductible. It takes a bit to pay through that. But I have been told if I don't do it quick enough they will cancel me as a patient. Obviously those in charge care nothing about the patients. Only money. So I'm thinking I will go elsewhere.
