I had a terrible experience at Eye Care of San Diego. I waited over an hour past my appointment time before I was even brought back, then I was run through a myriad of tests which I explained I did not need as I had just gotten the same tests done weeks ago. Regardless, they did all the tests which resulted in a $115 charge (after insurance). Dr. Berkowitz was very kind but refused to perform the procedure that my regular ophthalmologist recommended and ensured would be safe given my current conditions. (He was out of the co... read more
Receptionist are amazing, unfortunately the rest not so much.
The doctor, Carla Berkowitz is a good doctor and she was helpful for my emergency visit but the staff there are very incompetent I feel. Did not have a good experience here. I had visited an urgent care and was redirected here and quickly got an appointment the same day, the staff here is not very competent. They had no clue how to do the billing process and despite my deductible not being met I was asked to pay some amount there as coinsurance. This place is by far the most incompetent medical facility I have ever been to and I have lived on two continents. Not only did they get my prescription wrong three separate times, it took 5 1/2 months for them to finally return my call after I called 22 times saying that I still could not see out, only to realize they handed me someone else’s prescription. But they never bothered to call me to rectify it, so now I’m out almost $1000 on glasses because they got it wrong. Finally, the manager called me back after I posted my ... read more
I had a really terrible experience with Eye Care of La Jolla. They called me to reschedule the appointment to the office in La Jolla and I agreed. I got to the appointment and after waiting for over two hours I had to leave. I ran out of time and they did not seem to care at all. I would definitely not do business with them.
