I received a treatment from exclea/independence health and paid off the full total of $1154. When I looked at my debit card, they charged me again. I called back and showed them proof that it was off paid and they said the money would be reviewd returned. 1 month later the money has not arrived in my account and i already have spoken with (4) receptionist. Rude and unhelpful billing department.
I love the Excela medical care I get and the team of doctors I have are absolutely amazing, but honestly I have never encountered a more disorganized, incorrect, billing system like the Excela Business Office. I have had more issues with a hospital bill from April of 2022, than any person ever should. It was processed with the wrong group number, then taken out of the excela billing section for me, I called and was told excela and my insurance were working closely together to ensure correctness. I apologize now for the long rant: Short story, don't trust EHMG to get any of your billing right, or even to bill the right insurance company. Verify every charge you get billed for with your insurance company!!! I've been getting a bill from Excela Health Medical Group (EHMG) along with a bill from Excela Health for some time. I assumed all my bills were on the larger bill since that one totaled all of my out of pocket insurance total, but kept getting the smaller one.
