At Evergreen, we serve a variety of Chinese dishes, including Cantonese, Taiwanese, and Hakka specialties. We also have a huge variety of vegetarian and vegan options, which are prepared using a separate cutting board and wok. Our chef, Connie Fan, says that when people come to Evergreen she wants it to feel like they are eating their grandmother's cooking. She loves cooking, and she loves to see people enjoying the food she has prepared, so come by and check out what we've got.

Lunch special. The place was clean and the food was very flavorful. I was glad I came here for lunch.
Best in Basements! It would be easy to miss Evergreen Chinese if you didn't know it was there. Tucked into a basement on Nicollet Avenue's Eat Street, it isn't striking from the outside, but hides some of the best Chinese food in town, especially for vegetarians--everything on the menu can be made with one of their multiple meat analogues. The service is friendly and the prices are fantastic. The award-winning and delightfully spicy Three Cup Tofu is a special favorite!
The basil tofu dish, the taro root bubble tea and the Asian eggplant were very good, but I became deathly ill with food poisoning from their meatball soup....not to mention the consistency of the meatballs was extremely odd.DO NOT order this soup!!:-(
This is my favorite restaurant in Minneapolis. Amazing selection for veggies. About parking: Evergreen has a parking agreement with the asian grocery next door - you can park in the spaces next to the building, BUT you MUST get a little piece of paper from the restaurant saying that you are a customer of Evergreen and put it in your front window. Ask for one when you go in to the restaurant, and they will give you one to keep in your car so that you will have it any time you visit.

A neighborhood favorite – This is some of the best Asian food in the Twin Cities. I dine in the restaurant or do take-out at least once every couple months. I am not a veggie but enjoy experimenting with their tofu dishes and enjoy the dishes with meat, too. Favorites include Ma Po Tofu, Eggplant with basil (spicy!), satay sauce beef, chicken in black bean sauce, pan-fried dumplings, sauteed green beans,Taiwanese Style Meat Sauce Noodles. Veggies used in the dishes are crisp and fresh. My only negative comment is that someti... read more
Great food – I had brought a friend here to do a school project on ethnic dining. When we got there the layout of the place is somewhat like a school cafeteria. The food was great, it had wonderful flavor. They had a WIDE variety of food for anybodies liking. Some reviews said they over charged their credit card. My bill was 16.38 and in my pending transactions they charged me 20.38. I talked to a lady who owns a restaurant who said some companies will charge 20% or more until the charge clears. So I watched my account and t... read more
Great food, nice ambience. Tricky parking. – It's so often that service suffers at family run restaurants that are always busy, but definitely not the case this time. The food has always been great, and service is excellent as well. The parking situation in back s very tricky though. Evidently 2430 is the lot you CANNOT park in (that's the child care lot). You'll have to pay a $250 tow if you park there at any time (evidently). We were one of several victims wondering where our vehicles were after the meal... although after ... read more
Fresh/Delicious! – Good spot for takeout. The food is fantastic and inexpensive. The Eat Street location is a little...run down and has minimal off-street parking.
