BEWARE. Will only take you if you are going to be a "good outcome". Can leave you hopeless, told us "sometimes you don't want to know!" completely refused to do a PET/CT, even though it was very much so warranted. 2nd and 3rd opinion doctors were in shock. Had treatment plans, that work, ready to go. Stay away!! She now operantly sees less patients because of some board position, thank God!
Excellent Doctor who provides extraordinary care
I was treated for cervical cancer {stage 2 b} by Dr. Chalas and her team. She explained all to me and any questions were answered and explained thoroughly. I would refer Her to anyone looking for a good, caring team of professional cancer doctors. Thanks to her and my Radiation Doctor {Dr, Weiss}, I am 17 yrs clean, cancer free and ALIVE !!!!!! Dr. Chalas operated on my elderly mother to remove a huge ovarian cyst. All the other surgeons we saw wanted to cut her open and remove the cyst intact. Dr. Chalas was able to remove the cyst through a small incision in her belly button. The operation took hours and she updated me throughout the entire procedure. Before hand, she explained to my mother why the surgery was necessary. She was patient and caring. I have honestly never seen a doctor saw compassionate and patient.

After my surgery I was told I needed chemo and radiation. During that period I had no support from her even though she was the one treating me, the office staff has no idea what's going on, there is no compassion, I had no coordination of my care, no nurse navigator, and dr chalas has terrible bedside manner. After my surgery, nothing was explained to me at all, complete lack of care. Having a caring and compassionate dr is important during cancer and this dr lacks those traits.

I am sorry you had such a terrible experience. We do have an entire team of people to care for our patients, and I always meet with patients once pathology report is final to review and discuss treatment plan. I cannot explain how that did not happen with you.
Dr. Eva Chalas Review At the end of the summer, 2016, I was diagnosed with stage 2 endometrial cancer. This was not the cancer 95% of women get in the uterus. This was clear cell carcinoma, the most aggressive form. Also I had scar tissue from another surgery. Dr. Chalas performed the 5 hour operation using laparoscopic procedures and I came through just fine. She recommended chemo and radiation afterwards but never forced me to make a decision. I thought she was excellent.
