Dr. Etter has been my psychiatrist since 2011 when I was going through a dark period in my life. He’s been available for calls after hours when I’ve been in crisis, has helped me get treatment at Butler Hospital when I needed it, and I can say for sure that if I hadn’t had that level of help from him and from my counselor there, I would not have chosen to stay alive. I’m on medications that are working well for me, and he’s helped with adjustments that we’ve discussed and agreed upon together. I cannot recommend him enough!
Super
Dr Etter and his staff saved me, and my relationship which means everything to me. I am bipolar and he has helped me manage it so I can have a productive and calm life. I can not say enough about Bristol Psychiatry.
Visits are fine - their billing is extremely messed up. They are lazy to deal with issues and should be shut down.
I have been with Dr. Etter for a few years and unfortunately have not found a similar experience to most who posted here. Exemplary problems: 1. I was depressed for 2.5 years. When I asked him to treat it with a well known med that treats depression for bipolar patients that has worked for me before, he refused for months. Finally I printed out the research and presented it to him. Without even letting me give it to him, he accepted the med change. Before I thrust the research at him he told me I would just have to live with... read more
I have been a patient of Dr. Etter's for several years and have found him professional and empathetic. It's true sessions are brief--the nature of the field these days. That said, and because pills alone are never the whole solution, it helps to have an individual therapist to talk to.
I have been a patient of Dr. Etter’s For 20 years he is intelligent, supportive and a true professional. Dr. Etter will spend much needed time to assess your situation and does not believe prescribing is the only answer. Oftentimes medications are tricky in this field, it takes time to find what works for your constitution. Dr. Etter’s Willingness to support a change in medication or a choice to not use medication is apparent and thoughtful. Dr. Etter is the best.
For 7 of the days I was hospitalized I called Dr. Etter's office and left a message for him to call me back. It wasn't until the 7th day that I finally was able to speak to him. I had refused to sign a patient confidentiality waiver, nevertheless one of the nurses told me they had spoken with Dr. Etter and that he had told them my entire medical history. When I confronted Dr. Etter about this, he lied and said the hospital hadn't even called him. Sad since Dr. Etter is very kind and friendly.
Dr. Etter is stable, consistent, keeps me on base and friendly, and very open. He has helped me a great deal and his office staff is very friendly and also a great deal of help. He does not gush with emotion, as I find I get the message loud and clear and it is both life altering and very right for me and where I want to be both emotionally, psychologically and especially helpful in interacting with other people. It is all right and good to me as I am able to have growing and lasting relationshi
