I've never had an issue getting ahold of customer service, however, the low review is based on experience with the platform and fees associated with using the debit card. Firstly, it takes 24-48 hours for the system to update a new phone number. With that being said, you can deduce the software is poorly written, planned, and deployed. The trading platform is pathetic, In one column it shows I have a days gain of $1100 and in the upper left box shows a days loss of $1800. Tech support explain to me that the numbers are derived from different places even though they are titled the exact same. I bought $533 dollars worth of stock today and it shows I've lost $882 dollars on it today and it is worth $520. Customer support has tanked since Morgan Stanley took over. I barely rate any thing on google reviews, but this company needed to be awarded of. I opened my account and change my name. I have been submitting all required documents 3 TIMES already. They always tell me they will call me back and will change my name after 2-3 business days. It has been over 6 months and I can't do anything on my account. Please do yourself a favor and stay far away from E*TRADE!
Absolutely abysmal.
The system is always broken. They don't answer calls or chat. I need to take care of very time sensitive material and their animated phone system won't let me get thru with someone with a pulse.
