A few years ago, I started working on getting into shape, and utilized the trainers out at the LA Fitness in Norwalk. The pool area in this place is a disease waiting to happen. The hot tub has mildew all over and a scum line all around the sides. The pool is cloudy and not balanced properly with the chemicals. The pool also has a scum line. People go in with oils on them and wear street clothes, not a bathing suit. They have no guards anymore. The guards used to take care of the pool, but lately they just sat in a chair on their phones. No one is checking chemicals., This place could be a great club if it was cleaned up and taken care of.
I had to go to 2 separate locations just to cancel, the guy I talked with was rude and made is so difficult to cancel, only to find out he never closed my account and ive been getting charged for the past couple of months. There isnt even an la fitness in my new state. Awful customer service, they havent been helpful at all.
I was forced to put my membership on hold because I can not physically wear a mask due to only having 1 functioning lung. I was discriminated against for being disabled and told I would not be allowed to use my membership there. Yet my daughter went ahead and went inside and not only saw ***** other people in the gym without a mask on, she witnessed the young lady who had embarrased me and discriminated against me walking around talking to these people. This is not a customer service complaint. This complaint is about the company itself. I have froze my membership for about two 3 months because I was trying Crunch Fitness since it opened near by. I have been a member at LA since 2015 and today I decided to go for the day and I was so PISSED! First of all it was muggy and hot in there that you could smell the carpet! Machines were broken and/or had ripped fabrics, and cables were stiff and had terrible lighting. I dont understand how they can charge 30ish and more for member... read more
Their business model is based on making it hard to cancel and unused membership, REQUIRING that you mail it to a an address. There is absolutely no excuse to not allow for efficient cancellation through email or their website. Facility quality is inconsistent and their website and app are from ****.
I originally was very happy with the gym and was a member for many years. During the pandemic I got quite sick with COVID. When I tried to cancel my membership I was told I couldnt do it online. I then called the branch and was told I needed to come in in person (impossible since I was in isolation for almost a month). I was then told to call back on different days to speak to a manger, which I did. *************, **: The pools heater has been broken 90% of the time I have had my membership. (About 2 yrs). I pay the extra money especially for the pool and it never is heated, (very, very cold).Starting to think that this may be part of the business model--- Sign as many people up as possible for the general membership and no time goes into the pool, or whirl pool, (Also broken since I have been here-100% of the time). LA Fitness at ********, ******* is one of worst place ever i have seen !!!!People vape inside, eat their fast food. And the front desk is busy with their phone. Not even care after informing them. No ongoing schedule for floor monitor system by the management. Young groups always 5/6 peoples are make crowds at one place - even at Covit restrictions. I might have yo re-think to change this place to Goodlife may be.
