We saw Dr. Ertl for a year while we were on a temporary assignment in San Diego. Experienced a few unexpected medical challenges while in San Diego. Dr. Ertl and her staff were always responsive to our needs. She took time to explain choices and provided sound medical advice and recommendations. Highly recommended!
From day 1 dr. Ertl has been an advocate for my health. She takes time her appointments to make sure my concerns are heard. I have a complex family history and she takes the time to try to understand not only my health but my family health. She is patient and willing to answer any questions and takes the time to explain what labs mean. When making treatment decisions, she takes the time discuss options and has made good referrals when needed.
They told me my test results over the phone and then had me come in anyways. That resulted in a $100+ charge because it was considered a visit. Then, they ran tests that were not covered for my pap smear ($100+) and then fully charged me for the pap smear and the visit ($200+). This is in spite of pap smears and preventative care being covered under WellWomen. They claimed to have recoded it so that I wouldn't be charged for the pap smear, but instead they have it so that I get charged completely for my pap smear appointment... read more
cont - I explained I was TTC and think I have PCOS, she told me I was fine and to take BC (??!) to regulate my cycle. I had to push for a referral - needed surgery on one of my tubes and turns out I do have PCOS. Dr Ertl is obviously qualified to be a doctor, but my suggestion to her is pay more attention to your patients, some of us have a bachelors in biology and are just as “astute” as your other patients. Yes, she said to me -my other more astute patients would be able to diagnose themselves
I've been going to Dr Ertl for many years, and I really appreciate that she is easy to talk to and willing to answer all my questions.
My daughters and I all go to Dr. Ertl - she is a wonderful, caring doctor. She takes time to listen to what is going on.
