Dr. Avelar is an excellent doctor. When it was discovered by my PA that my heartbeat was irregular, I was concerned because I had always enjoyed good health and this sounded serious. Anytime that I have reported issues to Dr. Avelar, he has recommended various tests to find the cause. Very experienced and knowledgeable, but also very high energy. I’ve had three visits now and I’m upping my score from 4 to 5. My experience with the clinic where he works has been wonderful. He’s kept up on my medical needs, is interested in me, and is following up on diet and lifestyle changes I need to make. I love the updates. I get on St. Marys MyChart that include promptly posted comments from him about my visits and follow up.

Called on Thursday with a problem. Lab work was ordered immediately and results reported to me next day. Best thing was seeing the doctor Monday on such short notice of my need. Nurse Fernando and Dr Avelar were terrific.
