Was a great office visit and procedure could not ask for better service
After my family physician found traces of blood in my urine he immediately referred me to Virginia Urology. I had an appointment in two days. When that Dr. found a tumor she immediately set me up with Dr. Cote for removal of the tumor and a biopsy. That happened quickly, within a few days. At the time of the surgery, Dr. Cote explained the procedure in an understandable manner and even a little humor which put me at ease. It all went well and fortunately it was a benign tumor. I would recommend him!
Dr. Cote is not only very nice, he is an excellent urologist and surgeon. He really helped my father in 1993, when he had prostate cancer; and, he also was great help to me recently when I had complex cysts on my kidneys. He is also currently treating my brother for the same genetic problem. First rate, in every way, I recommend him highly.
Dr. Cote is a terrible person. I have never met a doctor with a worse bedside manner. All I experienced was an arrogant man that dropped some life changing news while looking at his watch. Just another one of his many patients that day. His diagnosis was overly aggressive and exaggerated. I get that nobody wants to hear bad news but after dealing with VCU Health Urology, I do know that doctors can have empathy. I am forever grateful that he pawned me off on them. I hope that I never see him again. Literally.
Literally the worst doctor I`ve ever seen. Literally yelled at me unprovoked. When his assumptions were incorrect, he never apologized for his tirade. DO NOT SEE HIM.
I personally found Dr. Cote to be very personable. He was nice and seem to care about me. I saw him at the Reynolds Crossing office. Have met good doctors before but Dr. Cote made me feel good on my choice. I would recommend Dr. Cote to anyone. The only thing I was disappointed with was his nursing staff. They weren’t very nice.
I’ve read the other reviews and am struck by the vacillations between “best” and “worst” and the reasons given.Shouldn’t kidney stones be treated by a nephrologist? And why is “bedside manner” so highly prized by adult patients? My own experience with Dr. Cote over the past few years has been great. A pleasant, professional, trustworthy physician - with, I’ll add, a “bedside manner” that left nothing to complain about. I will certainly recommend him to family and friends if the occasion arises.
My daughter had 3 ER visits for kidney stones was told to see a urologist, she still has pain and visible blood, so today she saw Dr Cote. After being interviewed by his NP, the doctor walked into the exam room and one of his first statements was that the stones she had were not a urology issues, she shouldn’t have pain, she didn’t have an infection and to come back in 2 years for review. My daughter then spent the afternoon in the ER yet again CT was done, stones are larger and kidney infectio
Worst bedside manner I’ve ever experienced from a physician. Cold, abrupt, unempathetic, and dismissive of my concerns. Misdiagnosed with a larger problem than I actually had. Zero empathy to my distress at his suggestion that I needed major invasive surgery. Thank goodness all the physicians at VA Urology aren’t like him.
