Ridiculous charge – Car would turn over but wouldn't start. Didn't have time to figure it out myself so took it in. Turns out, there is an inertia switch near the air intake (which I had to take off to replace the headlamp) that needed to be reset. They reset it but couldn't repair the broken bracket. They also serviced the transmission. They charged me 170 for the transmission service and 150 to tell me the switch was bad! Most places have a $80 to $100 charge for estimate. Got charged $687.72 per hour! – I was charged $57.31 to have my timing adjusted. For those of you who don't know, it's as simple as loosening one bolt, turning the distributor about a 1/4 inch and then retightening the bolt. Lets say it took him 5 minutes to do the aforementioned. That's a rate of $687.72 per hour. For this reason I DO NOT recommend going to Eric Krebs Automotive.

Had good experience (getting a smog test) – I needed a smog test the other day and came here. Usually a smog test is either a simple Pass (and no complaints about the mechanic) or a Fail (and then you may or may not have problems getting it resolved). Mine was a simple Pass, so there were no problems. They didn't appear to be the cheapest place in town, but I used a 10% discount coupon from the phone book (total bill: $51.29). The Best Around – I have been going to Eric Krebs Auto for 3 years now after bad experiences everywhere else. The moment i was greeted i could tell i was working with a good shop. They have kept my car running in excellent shape and have always been extremely explanatory, as i do not know much about cars. They always make sure i under stand what is getting done before they do anything. The best auto repair facility i have ever been to in 45 years of driving. Thanks EKA!!!
