Dr Cubillo is great. His staff should be fired. They are rude and do everything they can to keep you from speaking to the doctor. They have a patient advocate in house!! Why? There must be a ton of problems similar to the one I experienced. The clinic manager is an embarrassment. I would never go back to that practice. Unfortunately, there are many good doctors with awful staff. We patients have to deal with the staff.
He is very thorough explaining the procedure and possible results. Office staff is kind and cares about your comfort. Dr Cubillo treated me with respect and made me feel valued. I never felt rushed. While I am not “cured” of my pain, there are exercises I do that help a lot. If you have arthritis, don’t be sedentary. I have had 4 procedures from him. Doctor is knowledgeable about numerous conditions I have and I’m treated kindly and without judgement.
First of all, Dr. Cornidez is one of the most caring and skillful doctors I've ever had. However, after years of getting injections for back pain and for bursa pain, the practice is now requiring a consult before any further pain procedures. Since I live 90 miles away, and because the wait time for both a consult and the injection is so long, I now need my PCP to refer me to a new pain management doctor. Dr Cubillo is great IF YOU CAN GET AN APPOINTMENT. Pima Institute of so AZ (PISA) has instituted unfriendly policies for patients. Hard to schedule appointments. In spite of having many offices across town, you are restricted to whatever office they assign you- even if it’s an hour away. Very sad that they make it so hard. I will probably switch out of their practice
My grandaughter requested a consult regarding implantation of a DRG stimulator for CRPS Type I. Cubillo reviewed records from another staff member at PISA, and refused a consultation. I have already reviewed the other physician, Cornidez, who dismissed her 10 years of well documented suffering from CRPS Type I as "drug seeking". Don't trust this person to listen or understand you and provide care.
My grandaughter visited this so called expert in CRPS care after returning to live in Tucson. She has a 10 year documented history of CRPS Type I. To the best of her knowledge, he did not consult the documentation she provided to prepare for the consult. All he offered was "rehabilitation". He treated her as drug seeking. Do not trust him with your care, he may harm you.
So much empathy, humor, and professionalism. Wish all my docs were like him. I actually look forward to my injection visits! because all the staff are great, and they do everything to make me comfortable. The best doc I have ever had at 74 years. I have been seeing him about 3 years and doing very well.
Unfortunately I have chronic low back pain. I've seen other pain providers in other cities and never had the negative experience I had with this doctor. He seemed annoyed if I asked a question. I felt uncomfortable and judged. When you are in pain and going to see a new doctor there is such hope that the person can help reduce or eliminate your pain.
