My philosophy is that the role of the physician is to educate and empower. We educate our patients so they understand the cause of their symptoms, treatment options, and risk factors for future problems. By doing so, we empower them to chose the options that best fit their individual needs. This approach respects each individual as a unique and autonomous partner in pursuing optimal health.

Dr. Poplin is absolutely the most knowledgeable doctor I have ever had. He always listens and asks questions before taking notes, or looking away. I have always received great care and advice from Dr. Poplin. I would recommend him to anyone.
Today my wife tried to make an appointment with Dr Poplin as a new patient as she had heard such good reports about him. My wife is a stroke victim and can't always express herself clearly. But the treatment she got from the person who answered the phone was totally unacceptable. Unfortunately an appointment was never made, but if that is the attitude of the staff, perhaps it was as well
Whether it’s been a virtual visit or an in office appointment. Dr. Poplin has always taken great care of me. His staff are equally impressive and I’ve been blessed to finally find a doctor who listens to every word and then I will take his advice or medications if prescribed. He’s not one of those physicians who writes prescriptions just because a patient wants a particular medication if it’s not conducive to a proper treatment or procedure. I’m so lucky to have a physician such as Dr. Eric Poplin. Five stars for his practic... read more
Dr. Poplin has been my family doctor for several years because I read his reviews and the physicians in Shelbyville had misdiagnosed me, had nurse practitioners instead of my doctor without mentioning that change plus other unprofessional conduct Dr. Poplin has always been there in person and I can get in on an emergency visit any morning at 7am or 8am. Dr. Poplin and his staff have surpassed everything I had hoped for including reminders on annual flu shots, yearly checkups and their phlebotomists are also superb. I was use... read more
Awful. Does not know what Strep looks like, does not send in cultures, does not listen to patients, says one thing and does another, does not follow up on patients, does not request medical authorizations after saying he will. Also, does not work with anyone younger than 12.
Best General Practice that i've ever been to. Very caring and supportive and goes out of his way to help his patient.
Dr. Poplin is great. He talks to me about my options in a clear, concise, easy to understand manner. He is kind, compassionate, and has a greater understanding of the issues people on the autism spectrum face than any other doctor I have seen. His scribe/assistant is also very kind and personable. All the others in his office (particularly medical assistants) you have to suffer through but it's worth it for having a good doctor.
Dr. Poplin has been excellent from the beginning. He takes the time to listen to my issues and concerns and offers options for treatment. He is very thorough and if he thinks I should be seen by a specialist to address a specific health concern he makes the referral. I appreciate being treated as an individual and not just another number.
Eric D Poplin has a 4.4 star rating with 8 reviews.
