Nearly all class instructors are excellent! Class diversity is great! I have enjoyed the classes and most members are very courteous and considerate in the equipment room. But the lady staff in the locker room was so scary— yelling at me for not knowing the pool on Friday ended half an hour earlier (I smiled at that first yelling and said thank you to her) and yelling again 2 minutes later while I was naked, showering (which got me scared). Great gym and great company!
Don’t expect much of this gym. The two floors are separate and it’s very annoying moving around depending on what you are planning to do. One Equinox signature trait you for sure will get is the obnoxious, passive aggressive coaches moving around like they own the gym and don’t you dare touch any of the multiple equipment they are holding for their clients.
Equinox Sports Club Washington, D.C. is simply not worth its premium price. The experience here falls far short of what one would reasonably expect from a so-called “luxury” or “wellness-oriented” club. The facilities feel dated, the overall atmosphere lacks refinement, and there is nothing distinctive enough to justify the cost - especially when compared with truly upscale wellness clubs emerging in major cities around the world. The facility and the equipment are in excellent condition. The staff are extremely friendly, also. My personal trainer is Andrew Stoner and he is the best trainer I have worked with. He is friendly and a great communicator. After developing a game plan together, he corrected a bad hip flexor in a short amount of time and his regimen has given me newfound flexibility, strength, and improved posture. I can’t recommend Andrew highly enough.
