Their clubs are nice, the people are friendly and kind but the core at how they do business is an absolute scam. if you travel a lot - they have a 'freeze' fee of $50 for 15 days. Meaning if your away and unable to use their facilities for 6 weeks (like myself) - they force you to pay $150 JUSt so you can get excused for not being there. Their membership fee's are among the highest gyms already. Its an outrage that this 'freeze' fee isn't illegal. The people arent the problem - its their greed.
Equinox Downtown LA felt like more than just a regular gym visit. I went in for a workout, used the equipment, and liked how clean and polished everything felt without being too distracting. The space had a focused energy, the machines were well kept, and it made it easy to get into a good routine. It’s definitely a gym I’d go back to when I want a solid workout in a nicer setting.
Steph’s Best: Fitness Edition! Up to the third floor of 444, like most of LA, it’s not what’s inside but WHO, and BRE’NAE welcomes me like royalty. Only time to get heart healthy on the LIFE FITNESS treads & LIFE CYCLE bike watching some of Paris and its history scroll by.
