I have been waiting in the ER for over 8 hours. My daughter was told that 2 people were ahead of her over an hour ago. That was at best misleading. So over 9 hours later, she is finally being seen. NorthShore is obviously understaffed! I went to a competitor yesterday and was seen and treated very quickly. I highly recommend Lake Forest Hospital.
My family member went there for a routine outpatient procedure. Since she was nauseous and had a headache they gave her the choice to stay for nausea treatment or to go home. She chose to stay overnight and get treatment. I want to emphasize that she was told she was well enough to go home with the symptoms and was not having a medical emergency at the time. I went in for a blood draw today. The phlebotomist put half of the needle in and the vessel became swollen so I asked her why. I could see she started to panic. Then she pulled out the needle and the area was bruised afterwards. The other phlebotomist told me the bruise will go away after four to six days. This is very unprofessional. I ended up not getting my blood drawn today because I left. Blood draws should not result in bruising.
Our daughter underwent a tonsillectomy, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we arrived, the entire staff was welcoming, reassuring, and incredibly supportive. The facility was exceptionally clean, and everyone went above and beyond to make her outpatient procedure safe, comfortable, and as stress-free as possible. We are truly grateful for the outstanding care and compassion shown to our daughter and our family. Thank you to everyone involved.
