Rehap is good. Doctor and Case Manager Nurse are the worst, they only here themselves talk, not anybody else. We tried telling them VA would pick up after Medicare, because he is 100% covered, but she didn't care and would not listen. She only wanted to move him out ready or not. They kicked my dad out on a Friday ready or not. Nobody in rehab could believe they were sending him home yet. Needless to say the last 4 days of rehab was just to show me how to transfer him with a transfer board and other things to help. They sent... read more

I worked here for about nine months and found liars, under staffing, favoritism and management who abuse their authority and staff. This starts with the CNO John Jones on down to the floor supervisors. Management will tell blatant lies, use intimidation tactics and cover up for one another. When you report them to HR they will make up false evidence to have you fired. This place wants the most amount of work out of you while using the least amount of staff possible. My 87yr old father was lucky to be a candidate for Health South’s Rehab program after spending 2 weeks in the hospital from acute renal failure. He undergoes 3.5 hours (5 sessions) of physical, occupational and mental acuity therapy daily and the results have been nothing short of a miracle! I had my left leg amputated above the knee on Feb. 21, 2018 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis due to a staph infection. Family member was sent here for rehab care before and after a procedure. Health South PT /OT personel were great! Patient rooms were dirty. Response time for call bell just being answered was about 15 min and for help getting up around 30 min. Rang for pain meds twice no one ever came to give them after 40 min family member feel asleep. No hot water in sinks in rooms. Lots of stuff stored in hallways hard to get by. Food was terrible. Drs do not treat sick people so don't get sick while you are there. This place is the best! My 25 yr son was admitted here after being in an induced coma.We never thought he would walk or talk again after they removed him from the ventilator. Health South was recommended by friends here in Sarasota I went on line and was frightened by some of the reviews. The place he was is the worst hospital in Florida. This is a horrible place. Do not use this facility. This place is run by a bunch of clowns. They are rude and abusive. There is no communication whatsoever and no higher authority running this facility. Out of 13 nights my mother was there she called 10 times and I finally pulled her out in the middle of the night. I repeat . . . DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY!!!! They are a joke. I AM REPORTING THEM TO MEDICARE THIS MORNING.
